The short version: the game runs on your phone. Your progress never leaves it, there is no account, and nothing about you is collected, stored on a server, or sold to anybody.
That is not a promise about intentions. It is a description of how the app is built, and the rest of this page explains it plainly enough that you can check.
Everything you do in the game is kept on the device itself, in the ordinary storage iOS gives an app:
None of it is sent anywhere. It is not backed up to us, because there is no "us" to back it up to. Delete the app and all of it is gone — which is worth knowing before you delete it.
Three things, none of which carry anything about you.
The record catalogue. The albums, track listings and liner notes are kept in a database (Google Firebase) and read by the app when you open a crate. The app asks for records. It does not send anything about you when it asks.
The music previews. To play a 30-second preview the app asks Apple's iTunes Search service for a song by name. The request contains an artist, an album and a track title — nothing else. Previews are streamed and never downloaded, saved or stored. Song previews provided courtesy of iTunes.
Album artwork, if you build your own crate. When you search for records to put in a crate of your own, the app asks Apple Music for the official cover art. iOS will ask your permission first, and you can refuse — the crate still works, it just uses a plain sleeve. The app does not read your library, your playlists, or what you have been listening to.
As with any app that connects to the internet, Google and Apple can see the usual technical details of a request, such as your device's IP address. That is their handling, under their own privacy policies, and the app has no access to it.
Everything you can buy in THE VINYL SUITE — a curated crate at $1.99, The Empty Crate at $6.99 — is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple, through the App Store.
Payment goes to Apple. Your card details, your name and your billing address are never seen by this app or by anyone behind it, and Apple does not pass them on. All the app is ever told is whether a purchase went through.
That means there is no order history here, no receipt with your name on it, and nothing for anybody to lose. If you need a receipt or a refund, Apple holds both — and the support page says how to reach them.
This app is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone, including children.
If the app ever starts doing something this page does not describe, this page changes first. The date at the top is when it last did.
THE VINYL SUITE is made and published by Music Suites, LLC, a limited liability company registered in North Carolina, United States. It is the company that answers for everything on this page.
